One Less Victim
Community Action Project
Community Action Project
The ability to protect oneself physically from harm is a basic human right that should be accessible to everyone, including children. Nothing feels better than knowing you can take care of yourself mentally, financially, and physically.
In 2022 I started a community action project that leverages basic self defense techniques to educate the community. For the past five months I have hosted a series of free Public Awareness and Education events with community partners to raise awareness of bullying, child abduction, and domestic violence.
It is my hope that our efforts ultimately empower our community, and reduce the number of potential victims in the State of Delaware.
Bullying Statistics
-
- The U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reports that almost one-fifth of all students in grades 9 to 12 have been bullied on school property, and nearly 15% of students in these grades have experienced cyberbullying.[*]
- On the Delaware Department of Education (DOE) website a Bullying Allegations and Incidents Report shares data related to incidents of repetitive conduct designed to harm another individual either physically, mentally or emotionally. Checkout the graph below to see the data your school district reported.[*]
